The botijo is a typical object of Spanish culture, botijo is a porous clay container designed for drinking and keeping water fresh. In ceramics it is defined as a vessel with a spheroid body, a handle at the top, and with two or more holes. In general, the widest one is called a mouth – the one through which it is filled – and the other is called a piton or spout , which produces a fine stream ideal for drinking without too much waste. This botijo is small to medium size.
